Calling all Toyota Rush owners, Toyota Motor Philippines has a special service campaign to replace some curtain shield airbag computer of select Toyota Rush units which may have "programming issues."
Vehicles produced from April 2, 2018 to Feb. 7, 2019 "may have issues" in the programming of their airbag electric control units (ECU).”
The issue may result in premature deployment of the curtain shield airbag as the impact of rear wheel passing through a pothole or dent may be "misinterpreted as a collision," Toyota Motors Philippines said.
Toyota has issued official notification letters to affected consumers to ensure safety.
Notified customers can get free replacements of the airbag ECU in any of the 70 authorized dealerships nationwide.
